Default Photo to Painting

I've been experimenting with creating paintings from photos. I'd like your opinion of what looks good (or not so good). I'm using a trial download of Corel Painter Essentials 4. The following is the photo I placed 3rd with in the latest Challenge converted to various "painting" formats.

The original...

Watercolor version

Oil version

Classic Oil version

Color pencil version

There's many other versions to use plus you can do manual touchups, etc. if you're that artistic.

Those are pretty cool! You and Bingee could win the artistic award if this site had one.

In your 1st example I like the oil version, your 2nd example looks like a Tom Thompson painting from the Group of 7, nice job.

Looks like a lot of fun.....glad to see someone enjoy photography and "creating stuff" with their photos.
The tablet package looks good on their site.
I am a long time user of Painter from Fractal Design long before Corel took over. Unfortunately it did not have the commercial appeal that Photoshop had so I had to put it aside.

Yes that van Goghish oil is rather nice - print that on texture paper and there you go.

I'm always amazed at what these programs can do to a photo and use PSE8 upon occasion. I'm partial to the colored pencil effect, though the water and sky being the same color seems odd. Anyway, nice originals.
